Ivory Lake is the solo project of Josh Watts, drummer and singer/songwriter. Originally from Sheffield, UK, now based in Southern Spain. Previous drummer for Geoff TATE (Queensryche).
Inspired by the likes of Father John Misty, Phoebe Bridgers, The 1975, Biffy Clyro, Tame Impala and Royal Blood. Josh has been interested in and creating music since he was 11 years old. He aims to make music that people enjoy and feel impacted by. As Ivory Lake, he released his debut EP, Pillows in January 2021 which combined introspective alt dark pop lyrics with an upbeat sound. Since it's release, the EP has drawn critical acclaim from BBC Introducing Sheffield among others.
“I see nothing but success for him in the future.”
“We’ve found it very motivating to work with Josh because he’s a talented, skilful and versatile musician with great work ethic. It’s always a pleasure to work with people like that.”
“I love how off-kilter it is musically with the really quite dark subject matter, the contrast on the two works so fantastically well.”
“Watts has accomplished a rare blend of style that has the possibility of broadening his listeners.”
